Good place to spend a few hours. The talks were informative. The portion size of the food here is really good value for money.Visited on

We had a nice walk around the zoo, unfortunately and sadly the gorilla house was closed due to a bereavement and we couldnt get to the flamingos due to the path being repaired so this was a big disappointment, thankfully we saw some orangutans which went some way to saving the day but had we known before paying the entrance fee that you couldnt see two of the major attractions we would have visited at another time. Its a small zoo and the bus service was not the best, sharing the bus with school groups was extremely cramped, all in all a bit of a disappointing day.

The zoo is known for its animal-friendly enclosures and efforts to preserve species. We found the talks with the animal keepers very positive. These were not only very informative but also entertaining. You can feel the commitment of the employees. What disappointed us a bit is that the enclosures are very large and certainly animal-friendly, but the ambience of the enclosure boundaries is a bit bleak in places. Partly concrete walls or enclosures in a plastic greenhouse. This point is better in other zoos. As I said, the enclosure is very appealing; the animals are in nature and can climb real trees and walk through tall grass. This means that you can't see some animals well, which we strongly encourage because it allows the animals to retreat. We spent a few hours in the zoo and were able to enjoy it very much, even with the “disadvantages” mentioned.

Lovely day out, if you are on Jersey it's well worth a visit, the animals are well cared for and have lovely enclosures, the tamarin monkeys have the run of the woodland area, running free above your head.Visited on

A really good zoo created by Gerald Durrel & a really worthwhile visit.
Loads to see & do over a large site , many different animals , birds & reptiles etc to see & in good enclosures too .
Decent gift shop & I was told the café/restaurants were good ( we didn't have time to visit them sadly) .
Keep up the good work

The Jersey Zoo never lets us down, it’s the most beautiful zoo with such caring, knowledgable staff. It’s a wonderful home to all the animals and you know they are being monitored and looked after so well. We listened to a couple of talks one with the Orangutans & the Warty Pigs 🐽. It was very interesting and informative thank you. We have been visiting the zoo over 20 years and always visit, when we are on holiday in Jersey. The staff from the front desk to the cafe had excellent customer service.
