Although the Crosby chapter is still in its formative stages (and offers a great opportunity for early joiners to influence its development) having seen an established chapter in operation I am confident that it will be a huge benefit to my business. If each member of an established chapter introduces only one quality referral in a year then it will have the same effect as employing an additional sales person at a tiny fraction of the cost and without the numerous attaching headaches.
On the flip side, the ability to build relationships with local business people from a range of other disciplines helps you build credibility with your clients as you are able to help them with issues outide your own area of expertise confident in the knowledge that they will receive a top quality service.
If you think that there is only a 10% chance that BNI might be of interest to you then you should still come along to a meeting as a guest. There is absolutely no committment and it only costs you the price of a (very nice) breakfast and at ther Crosby chapter you get to see on of Pat Cobhamʼs presentations which we may well need to release on DVD for the Christmas market!

BNI is about like minded business people using their business contacts to help those around them using the principle that ʼgivers gain.ʼ This means that if someone refers work to you then you are more likely to try and help that person out and this concept has worked successfully for over a quarter of a decade. It is easy to be sceptical about such an idea but the best advice I can give is to go along and try it. The Crosby group of which I am a member is in its infancy but has lots of potential. I would advice anyone to just give it a go!

I have recently joined the Crosby chapter, whilst we are a new group and building I have seen it working in all its glory and the concept really works - believe me. You will be sceptical until you visit, then the penny drops and from there on in you have an instant sales and business support team!
