There's always a reason to visit the Charles Cotton... because we're 100% cotton!
Named after the eponymous English poet, author and avid fisherman, the Charles Cotton Hotel has been welcoming guests for the past two hundred and seventy-five years. Nestled in the pretty village of Hartington near Buxton, the Charles Cotton is the perfect base for walkers, cyclists, fishing enthusiasts and tourists wanting to visit the Peak District National Park and the wealth of heritage that can be found in the local area.
Already renowned for its traditional charm, Judy Dyer and her partner Alan Shanks bought into the hotel in 2010 and have refurbished the building to restore even more of its original character.
"We want to provide our customers with a high quality, authentic experience," Judy explains. "The moment you step into the Charles Cotton, you're enveloped in the delicious smells from the restaurant, the aroma of real ale, the cracking of the open fire in the colder months and the olde world charm of the hotel itself.
"Since taking over, we have completely refurbished the restaurant and bar, and totally transformed the accommodation. We are now planning a new terrace café and seating area - the perfect place to enjoy a little al fresco dining."
The Charles Cotton Hotel offers something for everyone; a restaurant recently voted one of the top five in Derbyshire; a variety of accommodation including singles, doubles, family rooms, a suite and dog-friendly rooms; and the opportunity to book the hotel on an exclusive use basis for your wedding.
The hotel is also ideal for business meetings, corporate activities and team building exercises.
