Chesterfield College caters for a wide range of learners, providing foundation courses, A Levels, vocational and professional qualifications, diplomas, degrees and Apprenticeships in subjects such as; construction, fitness and wellbeing, science and humanities, business, engineering, art and design, hospitality and catering, uniformed public services, information technology, child care, hair and beauty, amongst others.

With over 700 courses to choose from, some 8,000 students study at Chesterfield College, 4,700 of which are full-time, another 500 are studying for higher education courses, with the remainder made up of apprentices, adult learners and other part-time learners. There are also 1,000 people who the College delivers training and education to in the work place through Train to Gain and Apprenticeships (for more information on Apprenticeships please take a look at Learning Unlimited).

Facilities

Both Infirmary Road and Clowne College campuses have their own Fitness Suites. The Fitness Suite at Infirmary Road is fully inclusive and open to everyone from College students and staff to the general public. The gym offers a wide range of cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, bikes, crosstrainers and rowing machines which are simple and easy to use for all standards. The gym also has a wide variety of resistance equipment to work all muscle groups whether you want to tone or build. Our changing rooms are equipped with lockers, showers and toilets; we also have accessible disabled changing facilities.

The College runs a wide variety of classes for all fitness levels, including aerobic workouts, and legs bums and tums classes. There are also Boxercise and Bodytone classes to improve muscular strength and endurance.

Health and Beauty

With 18 treatment beds and four nail bars in two studios, the Clowne Campus hosts industry standard beauty and holistic therapy salons, which operate as a live business open to the public. Clients' privacy as well as health and safety are a priority within this section.

The hair salon can accommodate 20 clients and there is a forward facing washbasin for wheelchair users and clients who do not have full neck mobility. The salon is fitted with a large display stage with backing mirrors for tutor demonstrations.

The hair & beauty studios at the Chesterfield College Campus also run as a 'live' salon. Situated near the town centre, the salon attracts many customers for the range of treatments available. Each of the three salons is equipped with forward facing wash basins to enable access for wheelchair users.

Catering

Each campus has its own food and drink refectory, selling both hot and cold products.

In addition to this, Infirmary Road has the Quad'rant Training Restaurant and Dining Facility, a fully licensed restaurant offering themed as well as 'a la Carte' menus to students, staff and the general public.
