A health-conscious primary school has received an award for its commitment to promoting healthy living among its students.
Warren Mead Community Junior School, in Roundwood Way, Banstead, has won an Enhanced Award for Healthy Schools from the Quality Assurance Group (QAG), for its "strong commitment to healthier living and learning".
Headteacher Tony Woodward said: "Staff have worked extremely hard to provide excellent opportunities which teach children all about the importance of healthy eating, good diet and the benefits of exercise.
"The QAG were particularly impressed with the enthusiastic nature of the activities provided for pupils and with the increased percentage of children bringing in healthier packed lunches or choosing a healthy school meal.
"There are only a handful of school’s in Surrey to have achieved this fantastic award."
