‘Buy Local’ is a fantastic new initiative from thebestof spurring local people to support and use local businesses in their town. The aim is to create activity highlighting to the public the benefits of buying from and supporting the very best local businesses and encouraging those people to be vocal in their support of these businesses.
‘Buy Local’ will find out what factors stop people buying locally. Most people instinctively want to do more shopping locally, but when push comes to shove many still go elsewhere for their shopping. Is it the state of the local high street, the variety of shops on offer, the availability of free parking, public transport or pedestrian access?
To find the answers thebestof will be launching a national survey to gauge public opinion up and down the country and see what can be done as a result
Buy Local Survey – ‘Where do you shop & what is the state of your local high street?’
We will canvas the public up and down the country to gauge their views on the current state of their local high street and shopping areas. This will be in the form of an online survey to poll local people on their experiences of shopping locally. The Survey will aim to build a picture, both locally and nationally,of how people feel about the local high street and what they feel it needs to improve and thrive.
Next week there will be two new Buy Local web pages live on the best of harrogate site. We will be introducing banners and additional sub menu links to drive our visitors to them. These pages will ask visitors to support/sign up and leave feedback about local businesses and to show the comments that have been left to date.
After the feedback has been left the thank you message will invite the visitor to complete our online survey.
