Established in 1867, we are now in our 143rd year and we are one of the oldest branches in the United Kingdom. We are totally self-funded and are responsible for the area stretching between Whitby, Scarborough and Filey over to Pickering and Helmsley, including all the villages in between. All of the Committee and the majority of people within the Branch are volunteers. We can, however, always use more help so please think about joining the increasing list of volunteers.\rOur Charity Shop is doing very well due to the excellent reputation we have earned and the extremely good donations we receive. Public support is vital and we greatly appreciate all the donations. All the money is raised locally and is spent locally, it costs approximately £8000 a month to care for animals waiting to be adopted. Some of the income we receive is kindly given to us in legacies. If you would like to choose the local RSPCA as a beneficiary please make your solicitor aware and stipulate in your will
