A free, accessible day of creativity in the heart of Southend- on-Sea on Saturday 11th May 2-8pm at The Old Waterworks (artists' studios), North Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, England, SS0 7AB.

Grrrl Zine Fair and The Old Waterworks Artist Studios invite you to our festival-style zine fair- a fun event for all ages interested in art, zines and live music. It's been set up to be fully inclusive, with facilities for disabled folks and support for neurodivergent folks, too. Our full line up:

Panel discussion hosted by Sam Duckworth (Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly/ Recreations) featuring Andy Downes (Artist and founder of The Little Known Studio and Southend Portrait Artist of The Year), Emma Edmondson (Artist and founder of TOMA The Other MA* and Dog Ear), Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir (of Black Pride, The Common Press, LGBTQ+ activist and founder of Moonlight Experiences and Queer Nomads) and Ojoma Idegwu (Founder of Dear Curves).


All Day

Coffee, Soft Drinks, Vegan and Vegetarian food by Stoked (Southern American-style vegan BBQ) and 1942 Street Food (South Asian food cart cuisine).
Live Portrait Drawings by Daisy Webb.
Grrrl Zine Library installation and reading space- expect 900 feminist zines, bean bags and blankets.
Welfare space by The Welfare Lot (expect sweets, snacks, chill out space, period products, water, sensory toys, art suppliers, ear plugs, baby wipes, deoderant, lip balm and anything else you could need to feel comfortable and happy in the space!).
Art Exhibition by Grrrl Zine Resident Artists 2024, Aghh! Zine, George Gibson, Grace Goslin, Bre Upton and Wuthipol Uj.
