Wrexham Community Choir is inviting new members to come and sing their hearts out at weekly practices which began on Tuesday January 7th at the Methodist Church in Regent Street.

The choir, formed two years ago, is open to everyone, regardless of age or experience. There is no upper limit to numbers, the more the merrier.

There are no auditions, no need to read music and everyone is invited to turn up and join in.

Carol Donaldson, Musical Director of Wrexham Community said "Many people think they can't sing but we believe everyone has a voice and singing together in a large group can help people gain confidence in using their voice - plus there are the benefits of having fun, improving health and making new friends"

Aside from weekly practices, the choir has been fortunate to receive invitations to perform and in 2013, had the opportunity to sing at a number events including the Llangollen Fringe Festival, Focus Wales, Erddig Hall, the AVOW Make a Difference Concert, the BBC Wales Live Music Event at William Aston Hall, the Kaya World Music Festival in Bangor, the National Street Choir Festival in Aberystwyth and the SANDs Memorial Service.

2013 also saw Wrexham Community Choir collaborate with other musicians and choirs. They were delighted to perform in Wrexham and at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff with South African a cappella singers, Africa Entsha. They also sang with Wrexham band, Heal the Last Stand, performed with leading songwriter and singer Charlie Dore and held a Christmas concert at St Giles Parish Church with soloists from the Welsh National Opera, Dragonsong and the Cor Caia Choir.

Wendy Paintsil of Wrexham Community Choir said "We are delighted Wrexham Community Choir continues to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to another exciting year ahead and hope people will continue to join us every week to sing with us.

The choir meets every Tuesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Wrexham Methodist Church on Regent Street and held its first weekly practice of 2014 on Tuesday January 7th at the Wrexham Methodist Church.

Admission £3.00 full. £2.00 concessions
