If you have dependent children, have you made a will? Do you know what would happen to your estate (ie everything you own) if you died?
Not a subject many of us want to think about, but it can happen and if you do not leave a will, the courts would have to appoint a guardian, and this can take months.
With increasing numbers of families with step children and for single parent families, it is even more important to put things in place to care for those who will need it.
It is far better for you to make these choices, for your finances and guardianship, than leaving it to the authorities to make these decisions for you.
