Abbey Meadow open air pool in Abingdon opened for the summer season on Saturday with a free swim weekend. It will close on Sunday 4th September.
It was closed in 2005 after council budget cuts, but a public campaign, backed by Abingdon Town Council and the Herald newspaper, helped it reopen the following year.
Abbey Meadows pool is situated on the bank of the river Thames in Abingdon, a beautiful area eccessible by boat, with moorings adjacent. The area also offers riverside walks, tennis, mini golf and a childrens' playground.
