Noah’s Ark Children's Hospice is Barnet’s newest charity shop and staff and volunteers enjoyed the official opening of its first retail charity shop on Saturday 14th November!
Although the shop has been trading since Thursday 10th November, a crowd gathered in the High Street to witness ‘Outnumbered’ actor and Barnet resident, Daniel Roche, cut the ribbon and officially open its doors.
A surprise appearance by another local celebrity and Noah’s Ark supporter, Demetri from Stavros Flatley, added to the excitement of the occasion.
Speaking at the opening, Daniel Roche said: “What a brilliant turnout for such a fantastic charity! It was great fun and was good to see so many people supporting the shop. I’ll be back soon to have another look through all the celebrity donations!"
Retail Manager, Nick Nicolaou, said: “The celebrity opening on Saturday was incredible. I want to thank everyone who has helped in the preparation and run up to opening and to the local Police Constables who came along to keep the waiting crowds under control on Saturday.
Talk about a buzz on the high street, it was more like a roar! We’ve had a really warm welcome from local shoppers and businesses and want to encourage as many people as possible to visit the shop, buy our goods and learn more about the work we do in the communities of North London.”
All the money raised from the sale of items in the shop helps to support life-limited and life-threatened children and their families in our care, so Noah’s Ark Children's Hospice is always really grateful for donations.
