The North Devon Show held it's AGM at Portmore last week. We held the main business of the AGM in a room adjoining the restaurant where 96 people sat down to dine. The food was first class, the staff very courteous and overall there was a lovely atmosphere. We would highly recommend Portmore Golf Park as your venue.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great cooking. So good we keep going again and again. The only problem is we cannot always get a table on Sunday as it is so popular. I would recommend it to anyone. Great food and service.

For two years we have had our Staff Christmas Party at the Portmore and the service has always been excellant, so much so that we are already booked for this year. Colin and all his staff worked incredibly hard to make sure everything went to plan. Everyone commented on what a good night they had - pretty hard to impress over 100 people. We held a Charity Winter ball here on 28th November. From the first enquiry they were very attentive to our wishes, the evening was well planned, the room looked lovely. The food was home made, good quality meat and was superb. The staff were fun and even joined in on the dancing after their hard nights work which was great to see. Fantastic value and would recommend in a flash. Thank you for a great evening.

We held a folk evening with German teachers at Portmore and were well looked after from the outset. A very welcoming team, accommodating to our needs and a great night had by all. Spotlessly clean with excellent evening buffet. A great venue space and room for all kinds of events. Highly recommended. Thanks to the Portmore team!

Very friendly Golf Club with very welcoming staff. The Club Professional is fantastic. I have attended all the Golf Clubs in this area and Portmore is by far the friendliest. Helen behind the bar is especially brilliant!

The welcoming, encouraging, friendly, inclusive atmosphere around Portmore Golf Centre turned me from a woman who thought golf was a stupid game played by elitist and wealthy males into an enthusiastic two/three games a week player! Andy, the professional, is so patient and helpful, and makes learning the game fun and uncomplicated. Whether you are a new player or old hand, a junior, woman, low handicap or social player you are valued and included. The extensive golf range is a great place to hone your skills especially during the winter months when weather is cold or wet and days are short. And away from golf, Sunday lunch at Portmore is great! Local produce beautifully cooked at a very competitive price, but don't forget to book early. The whole Portmore experience is like being part of an extended family!

I have been a member of Portmore for over 10 years and what makes it stand out is the friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment. Portmore has a very relaxed atmosphere with the opportunity to play alongside all members - junior, seniors, men or women. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, socially and within teams across Devon. The Webber family make everyone feel welcome and I would recommend the club to both beginners and experienced golfers!
