The business owners and dance teachers are Steve and Karen Moss, a husband-and-wife team who are UKA Associates and members of the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dancing. They are truly passionate about dancing and believe that anyone can (and should) dance regardless of age, size, ability or disability.
At Project:Dance’s classes in the Barnstaple area (St Pauls Church Hall Sticklepath, Lampard Community School, Umberleigh Village Hall, Highampton Village Hall) you will regularly find young children, older people, able-bodied dancers, dancers with some physical disability, dancers with learning difficulty, larger than average people, and smaller than average people. The encouraging and supportive family atmosphere allows everyone to feel welcome and to learn to the best of their ability.
As well as being great for fitness and (of course) a lot of fun, dancing in a group is a wonderful social activity too. Students are welcome to come just for fun but many decide to try for amateur and professional awards conducted by UKA Dance, the benchmark in UK dance.
Project:Dance! offer classes in a really wide variety of dance styles including:
Modern Ballroom Latin American Sequence Dance Rock-n-Roll Street Dance Hip-Hop Freestyle Corporate Events |

Their groups also perform at many venues for charity, or simply for pleasure. In fact their show The Big Purple & Green Project:Dance! Time Machine was the highest-earning of 33 shows at the Barnstaple's Fringe Theatre Festival 2015!
Steve and Karen work insanely hard and run classes just about every day of the week, including weekends. The locations are handy for Barnstaple and include:
A full list of current classes, times and locations is available on their website and can be downloaded from Useful Downloads (above-left).
Project:Dance! offers one-to-one tuition (OK usually one-to-two!) for that once-in-a-lifetime first dance that all couples are expected to perform at their wedding reception these days.
No more shuffling aimlessly around the dance floor; you can make your first dance a real show-stopper for your guests, and have the most excellent fun learning and performing it!
Steve and Karen will work with you to learn a particular style of dance to match your favourite song, or can choreograph a unique piece for you. The dance will be so much more special for both of you than half-heartedly attempting a waltz. And learning it together is a lovely experience for any couple, even if one of you has two left feet. Practise makes perfect, or at least - as good as.
This service is also available for special events such as birthday parties, hen and stag do's, anniversary parties, corporate events and team building for business..... ... the list is endless. If it is a special event and you want some fun, let Project:Dance! give you the skills - your friends and guests will be amazed!
Both Karen and Steve are passionate, with teaching people of all various abilities to enjoy dance.
