Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day and was originally inaugerated in the United States of America early in the 20th Century.  A bill was passed through Congress to recognise the holiday nationally in 1913.  In the UK Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June and is not a public holiday.
