This event has become a major networking event in the business calendar in Barnstaple and this year included a speed networking event which gave a large number of organisations time to introduce themselves to many new potential customers.
The event also welcomed the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) who provided hands on interaction for visitors – setting them a task of engineering a sycamore leaf from a piece of paper and a paperclip.
The purpose was to demonstrate how the EDT engages with youngsters to inspire them – EDT is the largest provider of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) enrichment activities for UK youth.
Linda Fuller, Assistant Regional Director of EDT South West said: “We had a great day at Inspiring Business and it was really worthwhile; we met lots of good contacts and thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
The consensus of visitors and exhibitors has been that the event has been a great networking opportunity, and having the Free Shuttle Car running from the town centre, courtesy of Roundswell Toyota, was a great new addition to the event this year.
Caroline Bramwell, President of the Barnstaple & District Chamber of Commerce has said: “We are delighted at the on-going support for this business exhibition in Barnstaple. The Chamber Executive Committee work hard all year round to bring support and services to local businesses and this event takes a lot of organisation, for which I thank them.”
