With guest speakers from the world of finance, broadband accessibility, support for local businesses, planning across the districts, and business rates. There will be ample opportunity, and encouragement, to question the speakers.
Lead member for the Torridge Economy, Councillor Phil Collins, said, 'This is an opportunity for local businesses to quiz the experts on the panel. You can help both councils to gain a better understanding of the needs of local businesses and shape our economic strategies. We want to support local businesses and focus our resources on the most beneficial areas.'
North Devon Council's Executive Member for Economic Regeneration, Malcolm Prowse, said, 'We're looking at growth in the economy and helping to support growth in jobs. There will also be an opportunity to talk about the forthcoming changes in business rates. Most importantly, we want to hear from local businesses as to how they see the local economy and how North Devon and Torridge can support them.'
