The Friends of Penrose was set up to raise funds for this historic almshouse based in the centre of Barnstaple. Steeped in history dating back nearly 400 years, these buildings on Litchdon Street need your help............

Behind the 16 pillared colonnades that offer safe and secure sanctuary forBarnstaple's vulnerable and needy older folk is 400 years of history. However we are at risk of losing it all. The Beautiful cobbled quadrangle that has stood so strong and supported so many is under threat as its now become vunerable and is in urgent need of repair.

The granite buildings are at risk of collapse due to years of wear and tear. The fragile state of the roof, lead guttering, oak doors and windows are really delicate and so we are looking to you for help.

The friends of Penrose was set up to help but we need all of the help we can get to raise the £100,000 target for the restoration project. We are so desperate to restore this beautiful historical arcitecture we truly are very grateful for any donation possible.
