Many people across Barrow are experiencing a difficult winter. The cost-of-living crisis and a huge rise in energy bills has left many struggling.
The choice between heating and eating is as real as ever.
In times of struggle, communities come together and see each other through, and the fantastic team at Allotment Soup Share are doing just that!
Throughout February they are providing free soup to anyone in Barrow who needs a warm lunch.
Art Gene has donated crops grown on Allotment Soup, their Isle of Walney Community Growing Space and with the help of wonderful Soup Share volunteers, has created a range of healthy, gluten free, vegan soups that can be taken away frozen to warm up at home or eaten at the Art Gene Gallery Landing cafe at the Nan Tait Centre, Abbey Road, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, LA14 5TY.
Everyone is welcome. Soup and a sit down will be available on the following dates: -
Wednesday 22nd February 12-2pm
Thursday 23rd February 12-2pm
If you need some warmth, please come along and enjoy a nutrient-rich, healthy allotment soup.
