The summer holidays are fast approaching and parents will soon be facing a battle to get their kids out in the fresh air and off their games consoles and away from the TV.
Well, Barrow raiders have plenty of activities planned to keep your kids fit, active and entertained over the summer break.
For 3 weeks throughout the summer, the Raiders will be hosting a range of exciting activities at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium.
Between Tuesday 13th and Thursday 29th August Barrow Raiders Summer Camps will ensure your kid can make the most of their holidays.
Community Liaison Officer Siona Hartley, Community Director Denis Fay and The Raiders 3 legendary PNG International players: Watts, Willie and Star will be on hand to deliver these sessions that focus heavily on having fun, enjoyment, teamwork and multi skills.
The year groups being targeted for the summer camp are years’ 1 - 6 multi skills, years’ 5 - 9 rugby camp.
As a local club, Barrow Raiders feel a huge responsibility in giving something back to the community and helping young boys and girls develop healthy habits. Through these community programmes their aim is to help youngsters get involved with sports, spend time outdoors, develop teamwork and promote physical and mental health.
Throughout the summer camps, the raiders will be receiving support from Furness college students with coaching and sports leaders from our local secondary schools, looking to gain experience working with children in a sports setting. This develops the club’s links with Furness College and all local secondary schools and allows them to support potential future coaches and teachers. They all need to access opportunities to develop their experience, and the club are offering that, with the emphasis on having fun, enjoyment, teamwork and multi skills.
