The amazing spectacle that is Printfest made a triumphant return to The Coronation Hall last week as hoards of visitors flocked to the event that has grown year on year since it began 17 years ago.
It’s the UK’s foremost artist – led printmaking festival, giving you the opportunity to meet the artists, chat with them about the printmaking process, view, chat about and purchase their artwork. Not only do you get to hear what the artist has to say about their particular pieces of work, it gives the artist the chance to ask you about why you are attracted to their artwork too.
This year Printfest has been shortlisted for the Cumbria Tourism Award for Tourism Event of the Year. It’s a fantastic recognition for an event that showcases artwork from the very best; a who’s who of the printmaking world, allowing art lovers the chance to immerse themselves in the colour and creativity that Printfest brings every year.
You can now vote for Printfest in The Cumbria Tourism Awards as voting is now open. You can only vote once, and voting closes on Tuesday 22nd May, when all the votes will be counted and the awards panel, along with the event applications decide the winner. Shortlisted finalists for this year’s award are Printfest, C-Art, Winter Droving and Westmorland County Show.
These 4 finalists will gather with the other 18 award category finalists, at the celebratory evening at Cartmel Racecourse on the 20th June 2018.

Best of luck to all at Printfest and congratulations on being shortlisted. It’s an award that would be very well deserved.
