Do you know a young person aged 14-25 who would like to gain valuable volunteering experience?
Our libraries are looking for volunteers to help with our Summer Reading Challenge. They need young people to inspire children to read, assist with craft activities, and basic admin duties.
Every year local libraries encourage young people to get into reading, get creative and fire up their imaginations with The Summer Reading Challenge.
This is a fantastic opportunity for volunteers to be part of a team, building confidence and developing creative skills as they talk to children about the books they've read and help staff with activities both online and in the library.
Training is provided before the challenge starts and records are kept of all the hours completed. If volunteers are working towards a Duke of Edinburgh award or similar, their logged hours can contribute towards it.
