St. Mary's Hospice – new fundraising initiatives introduced.

The Hospice is full of good ideas to help fundraising and here are just two of the latest:

Second hand furniture outlet

Have you just decorated your house or got a new sofa? Don't throw out your old furniture; anything in good condition can be donated to Saint Mary's Hospice new Furniture Outlet. They will take away your old furniture free of charge and the money raised from selling the items will be added to the Hospice funds - providing care for local people with life-limiting conditions.

It’s also a great opportunity to “bag a bargain” if you are setting up home or have a flat to let.

The Orangery Cafe

Or, if you haven't got any furniture why not pop down to St. Mary's new café opening in the Hospice Orangery on the 14th of June.

Patients, visitors and members of the public will soon be able to enjoy this new cafe facility. The cafe, to be staffed primarily by volunteers, will offer customers freshly prepared coffee, complemented by delicious cakes, and other light refreshments.

St Mary's hopes that the cafe will become a daily necessity for visitors, patients and local cafe addicts - a comfortable place to meet your friends, to read a book, or for a bite to eat when out walking in the Hoad area.

The space, which has wonderful views of St Mary's gardens, provides the perfect setting for people to get together and enjoy some light refreshments.

The cafe will open 7 days a week between 10am and 4pm. It is hoped to raise additional revenue for the charity, while increasing awareness for the role St Mary's plays in the community.

Both of these new ventures need volunteer so if anyone has free time it would be appreciated if you could get in touch.
