Ulverstem gives 6 – 16 year olds the chance to discover more about the opportunities to be gained from studying the STEM subjects; Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
This free event takes place on Saturday 18th November 9:30 to 16:00 at Ulverston Victoria High School with Siemens Energy being the main sponsor.
With interactive STEM demonstrations; activities; exciting modern technologies and VR experiences from big names like Siemens Energy, BAE, Oxley and Bender, it’s bound to be a hit with all ages!
There’s also the chance to meet local employers offering careers linked to STEM including the likes of Bender UK, Siemens, GSK, Oxley Developments and Chris Brammall.
Cumbria does suffer from a skills shortage, particularly in science, technology, engineering and maths. Ulverstem will highlight how these subjects are relevant in the ‘real world’ and how important these skills are to local businesses.
Giving youngsters the chance to get involved with fun challenges, whilst finding out more about the world- leading technological companies on their doorstep is vital in bringing the next generation of highly skilled local people into these industries.
The event is free and you don't need to book tickets, just turn up on the day and take part!
