There’s plenty of fun to be had with Barrow Library over October Half Term!
This October Half Term is going to be a different one at Barrow Library.
Under normal circumstances, the library would be all set and ready to throw open its doors and welcome you all for a week packed full of activities, readings and workshops throughout half term.
Well, sadly we’re in less than normal circumstances, but don’t fret – Barrow Library will still be providing fun activities and events, just in a different way!
Barrow Library would love to see you this week anytime between 10am and 1pm where you can collect a free bundle of great stories and activities curtesy of Book Trust. You can then join the library in half term on their Facebook page for fun activities related to the books in your pack. Listen to stories and craft along.
If you would like a free pack but aren’t able to collect between those times then email cathy.fidler@cumbria.gov.uk to arrange collection or delivery if you are isolating.
Please note content of the packs varies but is most suitable for younger children and their grownups. The library only have a limited number of packs, and to be fair to everyone they will be supplied on a first come first served basis.
So, what can you expect over the next week? Here’s a run down of the great events and activities you can join in on:
Included in your packs are copies of the amazing books – ‘The Cave’ by Rob Hodgson and ‘My Pet Star’ by Corrinne Averiss, and you can read along at home and hear from the Authors and illustrators too.
There is a Meet the Author event planned as Fleur Bradley celebrates the launch of her latest book ‘Midnight at the Barclay Hotel’. Fleur will be talking about writing, leaving clues and more!
And it wouldn’t be half term without some fun craft ideas would it? You can download and print out a fun Ghost PDF for the kids to get them in the Halloween spirit.
So there you go! There’s plenty to do, just pop over to Barrow Library or email them for your pack and join in the fun.
You can find out more and keep upto date by checking out the Barrow Library Facebook Page.
Have fun everyone!
