'Warm Welcome Spaces' are being established across Barrow and Furness where people can go for free to get warm, save money on their heating costs and enjoy a warm drink and company in a safe place.
Across our towns and villages Warm Spot venues have opened up in village halls, community centres, churches, libraries and hotels. Some venues will be open every day and some just a few hours a week. Everyone is welcome and you won’t need to explain why you are there – you just need to turn up. There’s no judgement or intrusive questions, just a safe warm space for you to spend time in.
As a minimum, a Warm Spot will offer a warm space, a warm welcome, someone on hand to talk to if you wish, and, in most cases, a hot drink (free or at cost). But many are offering a much wider range of facilities, activities and support.
We’ve compiled a list of local Warm Spaces and Warm Spots for you, so it’s easy to find somewhere to go for warmth, friendship a hot drink and maybe some hot food in a safe, inclusive setting. Take a look…

Warm Spots is a joint project, led by Cumbria County Council, ACTion with Communities in Cumbria, Churches Together in Cumbria, Cumbria Community Foundation and Cumbria CVS.
