Just spent 3 nights at this cracking public house.
Our room was absolutely fabulous. Old oak beams and a floor like Blackpool big dipper. Don't forget that the pub was built in 1680.
Great selection of beers and spirits and a good menu with all the dishes cooked to perfection.
Couldn't recommend the White Hart more highly and would definitely go again.

We visited The White Heart on 25.10.2020. Nice food but the one thing that really bugged me was being charged £3.95 for extra gravy on my Sunday dinner, I really think that is extortionate. If I was informed before asking for extra gravy I would of said no to the gravy lol. I've never been charged for gravy on a Sunday lunch ever, and there was literally a ladel of it, the most expensive gravy ever.

Having read the previous reviews I knew we were in for a great meal, but this was even better than we had imagined. On a very wet day, we decided to have lunch here and opted for a selection of the small plates. They were beautifully presented and particular highlights were the Halloumi Fries, Goats Cheese Bon Bons and Buffalo Wings. In fact everything sounded so appetising, that they will require further visits!
And a special mention must go to the Salt & Rosemary Chips, full of flavour and very moreish. Children are also catered for with a good range of choices for them too, again, these went down well. Service was also excellent and this restaurant deserves all the accolades it is receiving. We will definitely return for an evening meal and for more lunches too. A fantastic place to go when you're in Ulverston, located in lovely Ford Park and just at the bottom of the walk up Hoad Hill.

With the weather being bad today I decided to take a visit to Barrow Market Hall. So glad I did. I managed to get all my shopping all under one roof. So many great stalls and knowledgeable traders. The market is a fantastic place to visit. Many towns have lost their market. Barrow are lucky to have their own market. With the decline of the high street in many towns it was great to see so many stalls in Barrow Market. Next time your are in town pop in to the market and give it a try. You’ll be glad you popped in.
