Towngate Theatre in Basildon first opened back in 1989, then after a period of partial closure re-opened in the summer of 2006.
We like to have a wide and varied choice of shows which are put together by our own Towngate Promotions, as well as popular, entertaining and occasionally, more cultural and controversial productions brought in from elsewhere. We aim to please a wide spectrum of people throughout Basildon and all surrounding areas.
The Towngate Theatre can be hired for stage performances, concerts, exhibitions, as well as business conferences, dinners and seminars.
About the Theatre
We are easy to find and centrally-located, right in the middle of Basildon Town Centre. We are less than a 5 minute walk from both the town's bus and rail stations. We also have ample car parking (with the majority of which is free after 6pm).
Hire the Theatre
The whole of the Towngate Theatre can be hired or any of the following:
- The main auditorium
- The smaller studio theatre
- Either of 2 large foyers
- Either of the 2 bar areas
The above can be hired for arts or business purposes for example stage performances, concerts, exhibitions, as well as business conferences, dinners and seminars. Catering facilities are also available.
