The service which brings your ancestry and history to life involves copying old photographs from a wide range of mediums including slides, prints and negatives. These can be transferred onto canvas, as well as regular copies helping you keep old family memories alive. 

Founder and photographer Martin Barnard of Barney Photography said: “In our fast paced lives we have noticed an increase in those wishing to preserve and restore old photographs. Photos are very sentimental, whether they are old family members or a loved one that has passed away. The ability to restore these to their former glory is a wonderful skill.” 

He added: “We have achieved a reputation for the care taken and the quality of our work. This quality starts with the method we use to copy the print, then the care taken with any retouching or restoration and lastly the printing. The skills we used when all our work was carried out by hand with chalks and wet solutions, has given us greater insight now we are using digital methods.”

The finished prints are mounted in a hand cut window mount so they are ready to frame in a standard sized frame. All forms of manipulation are carried out like combining two or more images, removing part of an image or hand colouring black and white prints. 

Barney Photography is also proud to offer a 50% discount on all sitting portraits until the end of May. This discount includes sittings for families, couples, individuals, children and the family pet. Babies can also be photographed singularly or within the company’s Cherubs package.  After the sitting the subjects will be invited back to view a slide show of the images and to discuss how they would like the portraits finished, mounted and framed.
