Wedding days are often the best days of two lives but it can all go wrong if you forget to consider some important factors when arranging the big day.

For example, a horse-drawn carriage might seem like a good idea but you could soon regret it when you’re under an umbrella trying to stay warm from the rain. In addition to your travel to the ceremony, the venue itself is also an important factor in your wedding.

We don’t want it to go wrong for you so have compiled a list of simple things to remember when booking a wedding venue.

Location - The biggest factor that will affect your decision is likely to be the location as you need to be somewhere that friends and family can reach. Also, you don’t want to be too far away from other locations you need to visit the same day.

Aside from practicalities, you will also want somewhere that provides memories whether it is the beautiful architecture or stunning scenery. You will always remember where you got married and how the day followed so be sure to choose a location that is right for you and your partner.

Accommodation - After dancing the night away feeling relieved that the wedding ceremony went to plan, are you going to need somewhere to stay?

Ultimately, you could choose the most beautiful location around but if there is nowhere to stay that’s near, it all becomes a little redundant. For this reason, you should look for a location that allows rooms too. For example, the Apollo Hotel caters for weddings especially and boasts two large rooms that are decorated to suit the occasion.

Time of Year - As we touched upon in the introduction, there is no use choosing something for your wedding that isn't season-appropriate.

A beautiful venue in the woods lit by candles and fairy lights may achieve a dream but it is no good in January because everyone will have to wear woolly hats and gloves. Be sure to consider the time of year of your wedding so you can choose a location that suits your needs.

Extras - Although these are the main three points to consider, you also need to be aware of the extras on offer such as food and music. Whilst some locations will offer food for an added price, others may not have the facilities to do so.

These are four simple things to remember when booking your wedding venue; as long as you keep them in mind, you should have all the steps in place to book the right venue for you!
