Today is independence day in the USA which is a big deal over there. Here we don't celebrate it, after all we lost a great political battle on that day in 1776, but we have cunningly made a play of words with it in order to highlight and support our great independent businesses. Today people are supposed to spend money in an independent business, but we say, an independent is for the whole year, not just for July 4th. Of course, they've got to be good, but if you can find out what their previous clients thought of them (which you can on our site) then you should be able to ensure a good or great experience. So, let's get the fireworks, the canons and the celebrations out today for the great independents in our city and seek them out for the rest of the year when the need arises.
