Free advice and support to get adults back into the workplace or to help them change career is on offer at a job roadshow in Bath on 29 January.
The New Opportunities event at Bath Central Library is a day of helping residents aged 19-55 get into work, find volunteering opportunities, build CVs and learn tips on interview experience and confidence.
The roadshow will be hosted by Bath and North East Somerset Council’s libraries team in partnership with support services including Future Bright, Curo, Bath College, St. John’s Foundation, Clean Slate, deafPLUS, Achieve in Bath, Job Centre Plus and West of England Works.
The free event is open to residents across the district of all ages but will particularly target adults seeking to change or progress their career, as well as those looking for work.
Councillor Paul Crossley, cabinet member for Community Services, said: “New Opportunities is an all-day event where anyone can receive help to get into work, change their career or get advice about the workplace and interviews. Sometimes looking for work or a new direction can be quite a lonely process, so I’d encourage anyone in this position to come along to the job roadshow and see if there’s a new avenue for them.”
There will be free workshops running throughout the day on CVs and interview techniques. The event takes place from 10am–5pm at Bath Central Library.
Anyone who is unable to attend the event can still use the council’s libraries at any time for their job search, including access to free Wi-Fi and support to improve their digital skills.
