Red Nose Day is fast approaching (Friday 18 March 2011) and thousands of people are gearing up to "do something funny for money".
The aim of Red Nose Day is to have a laugh and raise cash for Comic Relief's projects which transform lives in the UK and the world's poorest countries.
Several projects are funded in the Somerset area.
• These include Bridgewater YMCA who were awarded £121,302 to run a project which helps young people with problems with alcohol use.
• The charity Mind in Taunton and West Somerset was given £106,311 to help people with mental health problems.
• Somerset Rural Youth Project received £99,623 to help young people living in rural areas.
You can find out which other local projects benefitted by clicking on the Comic Relief website.
