After a visit today,I would really recommend The Barn House at Walkington. My friend and arrived before the cafe was properly opened, but the helpful staff let us in and made us a lovely cup of coffee. We also ordered scones which had been recommended to me - the waitress told us there were some baking in the oven and would be about 10 mins - all I can say is that they were truly scrumptious - worth waiting 10 minutes for. The surroundings were lovely and we were left to catch up with all our news without anyone bothering us.
I am very pleased to have discovered The Barn House and we will certainly be recommending it to our friends.
