The Butchers Armsis a pretty 17-18th century traditional country public house, in the beautiful village of Fringford near Bicester.
You Can enjoy your drink and food inside The Butchers Arms public house, which has been carefully decorated by the pub's landlady; Pat, or outside the pub in the warmer months and enjoy the view of the village cricket green.
Fantastic Food and Great Atmoshere
The pub is open every day for meals. You can enjoy a variety of dishes, some with an international flavour, steaks (supplied by Peter Goss of Bicester) or if you're lucky; fresh baby lobster with salad.
You could also choose a bar meal such as a sandwich or filled ciabatta and a children's menu is also available.
The restaurant seats upto 40 people and is available for parties. Bookings are recommended especially at weekends especially on a Sunday where the reputation of the lunchtime food has spread far and wide.
A good selection of Real Ales is available
THere is much to talk about the pub. For example, Fringford is very well associated with Flora Thompson in her book Lark Rise to Candleford and many readers of the book come to the pub when visiting the area.
It is also reputed the pub is haunted by the ghost of Rose Brennan who may have been murdered here!
