REHEARSING THE "GODDESS" DANCE
This week, we have been rehearsing the "Goddess" dance for Descent, with choreographer Helen Calcutt, and dancers Sara Mcqueen (above) and Harriet Ellis.
Dance is only one of the "multimedia" elements in the production, which also includes film and live music, as well as drama!
NEW VIDEO - WITH EVANS LANSING SMITH
We have uploaded a video of our recent online seminar, "Myths of Descent to the Underworld," with Evans Lansing Smith.
Evans discusses the myth of the “hero journey” through the “underworld,” which continues to inspire the work of writers, filmmakers and artists.
Evans is the author of numerous books including Tikkun; The Descent to the Underworld in Literature, Painting, and Film; and The Hero Journey in Literature. In the late 1970s, he travelled with Joseph Campbell on study tours of Northern France, Egypt, and Kenya.
The event formed part of our “The Psychology of Descent” series. We will post a video shortly for the last seminar in the series - "Dante's Dreams of the Underworld," with Gwenyth Hood.
