Enchanted is an open mic night where members of the public, poets, musicians and like minded individuals can share their talent and express themselves in a safe and friendly environment.
“I have always had a love of open mic events” said organiser Mia Depper “and have been interested in performance my whole life. Enchanted started as an idea to inspire myself to perform more and a chance for others to spread their wings. I chose the name Enchanted because I found it best suits the vibe I was after and implied what I believe to be the most fundamental element to any open mic night, the ability to entice, entertain and inspire.
I wanted to create a quaint and intimate space, and chose Cafephillia. I always decorate the space with material and fairy lights in jars amongst other things. I include things that involve the audience like blowing bubbles and flowery head bands. I myself always dress up for the occasion.
We are planning on expanding to a larger venue to allow a larger audience, possibly Sorrento Lounge in Moseley (although this is delayed due to lock-down).”
Last year Enchanted was invited to be part of Mosley Festival and we did our first Enchanted Festival in Moseley Park.
“I am excited to see my Enchanted family grow and blossom” said Mia “and become bigger and better, to spread love and good-vibes further. I and looking forward to seeing even more first-timers and fresh talent starting off on their journeys.”
