Extinction Rebellion Birmingham Demonstration in Victoria Square Tuesday 11th June 2019!

On Tuesday 11th June, we will be handing in the climate emergency petition and the council will be debating the climate emergency motion! There will be a demonstration in Victoria Square outside the council house from 1-2pm and again from 5-7pm. The more people can be there the better!! You can find out who your councillor is and how to contact them here. https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/councillors/search The more people email in, the more we can keep the climate crisis at the centre of our councillors' minds and encourage them to be bold as crucial decisions must be made in the coming weeks, months and years.

We have also drafted a template message below, feel free to expand and personalise it:

"Dear Councillors
On 11 June Birmingham City Council will be debating a motion to declare a Climate Emergency.
A petition to the Council will be handed in on 11 June. Extinction Rebellion Birmingham have also prepared a Briefing Paper (attached) on forms of action with examples of where councils are already implementing these. We hope you will find the Briefing Paper useful preparation for the debate."
