Alongside the dance battles and competitions, festival highlights will also include live graffiti and street artists in Southside and at the Bullring, outdoor performances, exhibitions and much more to be announced.
Graham Callister, Director of Festivals at Birmingham Hippodrome said: “After taking B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival to Coventry last year as part of their City of Culture Celebrations, we are really excited to bring our annual festival back to the heart of Birmingham as part of the Commonwealth Games cultural programme. Many of our Breakin’ competitors will be training to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics, so it’s a very special opportunity to watch some of the most talented international dancers go head-to-head in a series of high energy dance battles.”
Danielle Bozward, Marketing Manager at Bullring & Grand Central said: “B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival has become a regular highlight in our events calendar, and we can’t wait to host the Grand Finals. With the world’s spotlight on Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games, we’re delighted to be offering our visitors a range of brilliant events and festivals this summer through our partnership with the Hippodrome.”
