Jelleyman’s Mill and the surrounding site (also known as Townshend Works, or Puxton Mill) are one of the last remaining vestiges of the industrial heritage of Kidderminster, and here at Jelleyman’s Heritage Arts Charity we are devoted to conserving the character of that heritage whilst also bringing the site back to life as a modern, flexible, community asset.

Our aim is to build a sustainable link between the past, present, and future of this beautiful region, engaging local people, groups and businesses to create a thriving hub of activity and opportunity. The site will offer offices and function rooms for private hire, spaces for community group use, and develop a range of indoor and outdoor facilities, services and events for the local community.

As a not-for-profit organisation all the funds raised will be directed back into the site, initially invested in getting the land cleared and the buildings back into use with a view to increasing revenue and developing our longer-term usage plans. These include camping and fishing facilities, permanent stalls for outdoor events, a café, a music venue, a conference and wedding venue... and much more!

To do all of this, we will need to source external funding and get creative with generating our own income streams, but most importantly, we need your support. Residents, businesses, charities, community organisations, politicians, service providers... together we can build a community around the Jelleyman’s Mill site that serves the local area, offering opportunities to individuals, young people, small businesses, and disadvantaged groups.

I am incredibly excited to lead on this project, and firmly believe that together we can restore this almost forgotten site into a national landmark that both celebrates the industrial history and the bright future of the Midlands.

Samuel Davies, CEO Jelleyman's Heritage Arts Charity
