A local poet is to perform at the You Are Not Alone arts exhibition and festival between 6 - 10th October 2021 in Birmingham.  It is a free event.

Ian Henery, who is a solicitor with offices in Birmingham and the Black Country, is to feature on National Poetry Day on Thursday 7th October during the festival organised by the charity Arts All Over The Place.

The festival are running health and wellbeing creative workshops, symposiums and entertainment that celebrates the impact of creativity for wellbeing.  Arts All Over The Place have been providing arts projects, exhibitions and community engagement events for adults with mental health problems since 2007.

Arts All Over The Place celebrates the creative talents of those who have or have had mental health problems across all aspects of the arts and promotes the value of the arts in mental health recovery.

They are very proud of creating meaningful work that makes a difference by providing positive opportunities for many individuals and communities across Birmingham.   Their festival is based at Moseley Hive, the old Pizza express on 93a Alcester Road, B13 9DD in the centre of Moseley Village next to Moseley Private Park and Pool.

They receive no core funding so any links to funding or donations are always welcome so they can continue to work within the Birmingham community to provide meaningful projects that make peoples lives more active and healthy.   On national Poetry day activities include a poetry trail with Cathy Crossley and writing workshops for wellbeing using pantoum and free form with former Birmingham Poet Laureate Dr Jan Watts.

Later in the day are interactive awareness  workshops about aspergers that celebrate uniqueness with Tina Cox before open mic poetry with Ian Henery.  The day of celebration for National Poetry Day finishes with more open mic poetry hosted by Matt "Man" Windle and Joe Cook.
