Location: The new Metro Stop outside Birmingham Town Hall in Victoria Square
Media are invited to cover the arrival by tram of Birmingham comic legend Jasper Carrott and the unveiling of the tram named in his honour.
The event will also showcase the work on the Westside extension of West Midlands Metro, phase one of which is nearing completion with passenger tram services between Grand Central and Centenary Square due to start running in a matter of weeks.
The formal naming event starts at 10.30am and is expected to last about 15 minutes.
There include introductions from Transport for West Midlands managing director Laura Shoaf and Midlands Metro Alliance director Alejandro Moreno followed by a speech from Jasper Carrott himself.
