Birmingham Mind have announced the return of their Mental Elf Festive Fun Run for its second year.

Taking place on Sunday, 1 December 2024 at Cannon Hill Park, the fun-filled event raises both awareness and funds to support mental health services in Birmingham.

Mental Elf is a 5km festive fun run open to all ages and abilities. Whether you walk, jog, skip, or run, it's all about having fun and supporting a fantastic cause.

The event aims to raise funds for mental health services in Birmingham, particularly for those facing struggles during the festive season.

In December 2023, Birmingham Mind’s Helpline answered 1,486 calls, and the Mental Elf run will help ensure they continue providing essential support. Every penny raised will stay in Birmingham, funding services like their Central Wellbeing Hub located in the Bullring & Grand Central.

This event is for the whole family. You can choose to take part in the full 5km route or opt for a shorter 1.5km course.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone who participates will receive a finisher's medal and a goody bag.

Elf costumes are very much encouraged for participants looking to add some extra fun to the day.

Kerrie Henry-Edge, fundraising lead at Birmingham Mind, said: “We are so excited to be hosting our second annual 5K Mental Elf event. There’s something for everyone, with free wellbeing support, a tombola, 'guess the name of the elf' competition, and much more!

“We’re also thrilled to welcome the Birmingham Panthers Netball Team, who will be joining us on the day. If you’ve ever fancied trying your hand at netball, now’s your chance!

“Last year, we raised over £18,000, and we’re hoping to exceed that in 2024, with all funds staying in Birmingham to support the vital services provided by Birmingham Mind.”

Registration opens at 10:30am and the Fun Run starts at 12 noon.
