Southside BID and patron of Birmingham`s Chinese Community Centre, James Wong (pictured) is calling for "a sense of proportion" in relation to the coronavirus outbreak and it`s impact on Birmingham. "With the heart of Birmingham`s Chinese Community being found in Southside" said James "the whole of the district sends it`s thoughts to everyone in Wuhan and across the world affected by the coronavirus. We understand that the news can be very worrying but it is important that we keep a sense of proportion in terms of the impact, here in Birmingham and the UK, that we follow guidance from official authorities and that we don`t allow the spread of misinformation". According to James "it`s business as usual across Birmingham`s Chinatown and our diverse and vibrant district remains as safe to enjoy as anywhere else in the city".
