The event featured an array of competitions, including the under-15 and under-17 open track and field championships, plus under-20s and senior open combined events. United By 2022’s Volunteer Collective was on hand to assist in the smooth running of the event.
Nicola Turner, CEO of United By 2022, the legacy charity of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, commented: “The Volunteer Collective was initially launched this time last year, and is designed to connect volunteers with opportunities throughout the West Midlands.
“Whether it’s volunteering within sports, arts, culture, community, local charities, or something entirely different, our platform gives volunteers a chance to be part of Birmingham’s 2022 legacy.
“As we celebrate two years on from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, we would like to thank our dedicated volunteers for supporting the England Athletics Championships at Alexander Stadium– a venue that remains intrinsically linked with the Games. It’s a true testament to their passion for helping their community and ensuring that the ethos of the Games lives on.”
