Step into a world of stories with Travelling Tales, a brand-new digital library capturing the spirit of travel through memories, imagination, and creativity. Inspired by journeys past, present, and future — both real and fantastical — this unique collection offers moments of escapism and entertainment for travellers on the go.
Created by local youth arts charity RicNic in collaboration with communities along the Avanti West Coast train line from Birmingham to Crewe and across the West Midlands, Travelling Tales brings together shared experiences, creative writing, and storytelling from voices across the region. From heartfelt memories to whimsical tales, each piece in the collection invites readers to explore new perspectives and rediscover the magic of travel.
The initiative launched in March with a pop-up *Story Garden* at Birmingham New Street station, offering commuters a first look at the stories and a chance to get involved.
Funded by Avanti West Coast, the project is part of a wider effort to celebrate local voices and inspire connection through storytelling.
