Homelessness & Contact: Claudeth Mcleod Email: claudeth.stanley@journalist.com (August 3,
2020, West Midlands, U.K.) – Announced today that Founder and Executive Director Claudeth
Mcleod is stepping down later this year after leading the organization for one year.

ABC Ltd advises the homeless community via the app.

If I want to find professional help for a homeless person, I always contact
government-funded StreetLink, which alerts local authorities in England and Wales
about rough sleepers. StreetLink will contact professionals who will try to find the rough
sleepers and help them access shelter and food.

Can’t Stay Home, Can’t Keep Curfew

People Experiencing Homelessness Caught in Pandemic, Curfews, ABC Ltd, call for
Housing Safety FOR OUR HOMELESS COMMUNITY.

People experiencing homelessness in the UK already at heightened risk and with fewer
resources due to the pandemic—now face even significant challenges as a community
at risk.

The West Midlands is one of the First-in-the-Country to Recognize
Housing as a Human Right.

Prime Minister puts tackling homelessness and rough sleeping firmly at the heart of the
government’s plan. He announces over £260 million for local homelessness services.

Over 300 councils across England will receive a share of the funding to support
homeless people in their areas.

A £9.6 million Government scheme to tackle homelessness is taking rough sleepers off
the streets in parts of the Black Country by using empty council homes. The
Government allocated the funding to the West Midlands Combined Authority - which
has then split up the funding among the four Black Country boroughs and Birmingham.

It cannot be right in the 21st century that people are homeless or having to sleep on our
streets, and this government will work tirelessly to bring this to an end. This new funding
is going to help councils provide better support to homeless people, and importantly,
prevent people from becoming homeless in the first place. But we have got to do even
more, and we’re committed to expanding rough sleeping and homelessness programs
and ensuring more integrated working between our local health and housing services.

Individual Housing for People Experiencing Homelessness During
COVID-19 and after that.

The government's advice on social distancing and self-isolation during the COVID-19
pandemic may be challenging for people experiencing homelessness and rough
sleeping. This guidance will assist commissioners, managers, and staff of hostels in the
period of COVID-19 restrictions. Commissioners and providers should assess how their
accommodation can meet current guidelines on social distancing, shielding, and
self-isolation and plan their response. They should ensure that they have understood
how they can apply the guidance on case management and isolation to the hostel
setting, particularly how the definitions of household and non-household contacts will
apply to residents. Managers and staff should adhere to guidelines and follow
appropriate measures wherever possible, including those on working safely during
COVID-19 and the advice for hotels and other guest accommodation.
