thebestof Bishop’s Stortford is delighted to announce that Playsomething’s Academy won its first national award on November 30th 2011 at the Music Industries Association’s (MIA) awards ceremony.
Hosted by some of the music industry’s leading retailers and manufacturers, and held at the Grosvenor Square Hotel on Park Lane, London, the awards recognised the outstanding products and contributions that both small and large businesses have made to the industry in this past year.
Bishop’s Stortford music shop and Academy, Playsomething, was awarded the coveted ‘Music Maker’ award, in recognition of the team’s work in creating and developing the talents of local musicians.
Founder of Playsomething, Jon Bliss, explains: “We are very proud to gain recognition of our hard work and commitment to providing the very best Musical Instrument tuition in Hertfordshire. I would like to thank the college, schools and manufacturers that believe in our vision and are openly supporting the work we are doing.”
Offering a fresh, fun approach to music tuition, Playsomething’s Academy has recently launched a full time diploma course for 16 to 18 year-olds, which is partnered with Hertford Regional College. This new addition to the programme is already a great success and has been endorsed by a variety of major manufacturers.
