It's that time of year again; the nights are drawing in and the scarves and gloves are coming out.
But although October does mean the end of the summer (if we had much of one, of course!), it also means that the magical times of Halloween and Bonfire Night are fast approaching. They may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the look in your children's eyes as they hunt for ghosts and ghouls, or watch the firework display is priceless.
So what are you going to do this Halloween and Bonfire Night 2012? thebestof Bishop's Stortford has a few suggestions...
Halloween 2012
Audley End Miniature Railway is always the perfect place to celebrate All Hallow's Eve, with its annual Halloween Specials. Are you brave enough to ride the ghost train into the Haunted Woods in Wendens Ambo?
Trains run every 30 minutes from 3:30pm until 7pm, from 27th to 31st October 2012.
Adults and children's tickets are priced £6; under 2's go free. Please note that the Halloween Specials are advanced bookings only.
Fancy having a Batty Halloween? At Hatfield Forest on October 31st from 3pm until 5:30pm, that exactly what you can have! There will be a whole host of fun children's activities, such as visiting the Witch's Den, taking part in some scary games, following the candlelit trail, making loot bags and taking part in costume activities. Just make sure you don't forget your Halloween costume!
The event is ideal for families with children under 11 and under. Booking is essential and tickets cost £6.50 per child.
