Just because you can't sing or play an instrument doesn't mean you don't want to get into the music industry!

Based on Baldock Street in Bishop's Stortford, music shop and academy, Playsomething has introduced another full-time course to its portfolio – the Playsomething Academy Business Diploma, which concentrates on creative business thinking within the music industry.

Playsomething Director Jon Bliss explained, “The beauty of this course is that you do not need to play an instrument. You simply require an interest in the music industry and business."

The Playsomething Academy Business Diploma is a full-time Level 3 Diploma, which starts in January 2013. The 36 week course covers a wide range of subjects, including:

Event management

Marketing skills

Business and financial skills

Managing and representing artists

Understanding music contracts

Media communication

Copyrighting

Endorsements

Understanding freelancing

Podcasts

Places are limited so we recommend that you get in touch with Bishop's Stortford music shop and academy, Playsomething as soon as possible. The Diploma is fully funded for 16 to 24 years olds, although mature students are more than welcome to enrol.

GCSE grade C in Maths and English are required and all applicants will be interviewed before being accepted.

Playsomething's other Diploma courses start in September 2013 but places can be booked now. They are ideal for musicians wanting to improve their skills further with the aim of getting into music professionally, and include Levels 2, 3 and 4 Live Music Diplomas.
